1st InterPENbook presented in Ljubljana
On May 7, 2009 at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Ljubljana in cooperation with the PEN Slovenia the first InterPENBook was presented by Tone Peršak, Vice President of the PEN Slovenia, and Antonio Della Rocca, Vice President of the PEN Club Trieste.
This book contains poems of 10 Triestine and 10 Slovene poets, all translated from the original language into the other and can be considered a good picture of the current poetic production on both sides of the former border.
It will be distributed among the schools and libraries of the zone near to the former border in order to allow people, in particular students, to get a close knowledge of the other culture.
The idea of such an initiative came out during a past Conference in Trieste in a talk between Claudio H. Martelli and Tone Peršak.
We are grateful to Roberta Ferrazza, Director of the IIC Lubiana, for her kind cooperation in this matter.
